Kicking off November in the Desert (Idyllwild, Palm Springs, Joshua Tree)

It’s November and thank goodness. I don’t put a hex on October because it’s notoriously challenging, it’s a fact – it’s a busy month without any days off! March is the other challenging month.

It was a festive week and a short week too! Friday was student-free.

Red Ribbon/Spirit Week

My co-workers and I dressed up all week.

I got in the spirit with my students to decorate our door for the Red Ribbon Week contest and my other classes finished their haikus, which I proudly put up.

No Naps

I skipped naps this week to catch up with a girlfriend, check out a new tiki bar, go to a Powerful Ladies meetup (at MoonGoat Coffee, also the host of our event next Sunday!), sleep early (6pm), and eat the best nachos ever with Jordan.

We attempted to find fall foliage in Idyllwild/a rather tough hike to Suicide Rock. We came a couple years ago and met Mayor Max and also went to Palm Springs and Joshua Tree.

Palm Springs

We spent the day in Palm Springs, kicking off November in SoCal with drinks and pool. We didn’t realize it was Pride weekend until we got there and enjoyed the fair (Saturday) and parade (Sunday).

Joshua Tree

After the Pride parade, we headed to Joshua Tree. I finally made it to the famous Cholla Cactus Garden and a short hike on the Hidden Valley nature loop.

In other news, I’ve been exhausted and passed out by 8 P.M. and waking up at 4 A.M. to workout, work on non-work, and slowly drink coffee and eat breakfast. I’m liking it, especially since the daylight savings ended/it’s dark earlier.
