Sunday Bests: Rest (Assured)

I prepared for this week last week and then took the weekend completely off to mentally prepare, and it went very well. I got through my last two IEP meetings and a full day of twelve 30-minute transition meetings and organizing them for me and my coworker, who also had twelve of his own. The process involves scheduling translators, parents, reps from the high school, running around the school to get everywhere, and then actually holding the meeting and doing the paperwork.

This week was also open house and mentor teacher meeting in the evening. So, suffice to say, I’m thankful for easy meals, quick workouts, and sleep. I slept like a baby this week.

P.S. I’m not complaining. This task was meant for me and fuels me – I am really organized and detail-orientedand if you read to the bottom, you’ll see that with my trip planning.

On Friday, I reunited with friends at our watering hole and drank half a bottle of wine. 🙂 Of course, I passed out early and slept in on Saturday.

My only plans for Saturday, aside from working out, was a Yelp Elite event at Trade Irvine. We ate samples from the food hall and I even got a free mini facial! Free self care!

The rest of my weekend was spent on planning my summer trips. I booked the AirBnbs and did research for my daily itineraries.

First stop, Amsterdam then another Viking River Cruise in June.

In July, I’ll road trip to Southern Utah and Northern Arizona. Stops: St. George, Bryce Canyon, Coral Pink Sand Dunes, Best Friends Animal Sanctuary with Girls Who Hike, Lower Antelope Canyon, North Rim of the Grand Canyon, and Flagstaff for my birthday.

A week later, I’ll fly up to Seattle for our annual college bestie birthday trip with Liz. Last year, I visited her and we drove to Burlington and Montreal. In 2017, we met up centrally in Denver. We’ll be there for 3 days then take the train up to Vancouver for another 3 days.

Finally, in August and just a few days before going back to school (year 6), I’ll fly to Chicago for 2.5 days then join Fit Approach at EMPOWER Summer Camp.
