I’m home from Colorado and well rested, physically and mentally!
I took a long weekend, starting on Thursday evening in Boulder.
Friday
Kris & Jordan arrived on Friday so I headed back to Denver to pick them up. Our first stop was Chautauqua Park in Boulder to hike the 1st and 2nd Flatirons.
This was my third time up and it never gets old or easier with the elevation. The trail itself is only about 3 miles or so.
In the evening, we went bar hopping around downtown Boulder.
Saturday
On Saturday, we met up with another college friend for lunch at Tupelo Honey and then perused free first Saturday at the Denver Art Museum.
Nathan joined us and we stopped into Bang Up the Elephant in Capitol Hill for our first drinks, fancy Caribbean cocktails.
Our evening was spent in downtown Denver, letting Kris sing at the karaoke bar, playing shuffleboard, and eventually ending up at a Coyote Ugly. We also walked through the Jack in the Box drive thru at 3am.
Sunday
Soooo I have zero photos from Sunday. We spent the day at the pool, drinking and sharing a massive pizza, and waiting in line and making friends while getting a late night snack.
Monday & Tuesday
I spent the remaining two days in Boulder. I walked around Pearl Street, the main drag, and had some time to myself.
The rest of the time was relaxing – sleeping in, laying in bed, going for a walk, watching “Disenchanted,” and eating local favorites – Cosmo’s Pizza & Snarf’s Sandwiches.
One day I’ll go to Colorado and do all the hiking and camping they’re famous for, but on my 5th (or 6th?) trip to Colorado, I’ve enjoyed time with the people and slowed down. See my post from last year’s trip!
