2018 Expo West Recap

It’s the most wonderful time of the year!

Expo West was this weekend. It’s overwhelming but also amazing. I still go for at least 4 hours everyday, although I’ve stopped taking Fridays off to go. I also learned how to not eat everything – I avoid most bars, protein powders, etc.

Here are my favorites this year!

Fresh Ideas tent

  • Perfect Bar has 2 new flavors. Their chocolate walnut brownie was a winner.
  • Miyokos has vegan cream cheeses and pub spreads that were to die for. Their booth in the expo was crowded.
  • Not a favorite, but I loved the display for American Harvest vodka.
  • Support local: San Clemente Cookie Dough Co makes a good raw cookie dough.

Hot Products Pavillions

Siete Foods is doing great things. They have new tortillas and chips coming out!

Hummus Pod was definitely surprising and a favorite!

I’ve seen these refrigerated Rule Breaker cookies but never tried them. They’re vegan!

Main Halls

There are lots of bars and granolas at Expo West so I’ve stopped trying them, but GrandyOats was worth it. It’s grain-free and chunky!

I’m not a huge fan of their popcorns, but I did like Lesser Evil‘s paleo puffs.

A great alternative to hot Cheetos: World Peas Peatos!

Best vegan protein: Dr. Praeger’s buffalo chick’n tenders. Also delish, Daiya’s new burritos!

I’ve bought Spicy Mo’s gouda before at Whole Foods and I love it! Reminder to self: stock up on these for parties.

4th & Heart made the most amazing grilled cheese and now they have chocolate spreads – this will be dangerous!

Another raw cookie dough I’ve seen but haven’t tried. You can also bake with Because Cookie Dough. Either way, it was yummy.

STOP EVERYTHING. Big name brand Justin’s is coming out with cashew butter cups! I love this Boulder-based company and Justin!

I’ve also followed the women from Wild Friends since they started their company and am so glad to see them expanding their line! SUPPORT WOMEN!

I’ve tried Oatly in coffee beverages and it’s good on its own. I ran into the owners of a local coffee bar who said this was a fave.
